...a ripple of a different sort

Ach! Still fighting allergies that seem to have gained the ability to fight back. I'm a tad behind on the invites, but with any luck my dearest will take pitty on me and I'll get a few kid free computer mintues to catch up later.

Did catch up on the ripples yesterday, and darn if book and hook didn't make me realize that I have yet another ripple that has been lurking unawares in my WIP pile:

It's a Misty Meadow scarf out of the Holiday 2006 Interweave Knits. Done upon US 4s in Lisa Souza Superfine Superwash Sport Merino in the Violet's Pink Ribbon colorway. Luscious.

So of course now I've been working on that and the ripples have been pouting. But maybe it's a good thing cause darn you Michelle, you went and figured it out and now I'm fighting the impulse to rip and restart!

Ripple-Latte

Well, I bet this hasn't happened to any of you as yet! As you see I have this lovely blue tub on wheels which I got at Ikea for $5. It is the perfect thing to roll around the house with me and work on the Ripple. Last night it ended up next to my bed. This morning I unceremoniously dumped my cup of coffee right into it. That will really get you moving in a hurry!!! Fortunately, as you can see in the top picture, most of it was deflected by a copy of my "Random Strip Generator" pages. The rest of it seemed to head down to the bottom of the tub pretty quickly while I frantically pulled out balls of yarn. My daughter and I quickly used a big towel to mop it off of my ripple and then individually squeeze and clean each ball of yarn. Amazingly it all came off pretty easily, altho I cannot see into each ball of yarn. I think we got to it so quickly that the wool sort of deflected and didn't absorb it too much.

So the moral of this story is to keep your food and drink away from this precious Ripple-in -Progress.

Ripple progress and new pattern

I have posted a new pattern for this afghan on my blog. I read Dawn's comment that she wanted a solid core. I don't know if this is what she was looking for but it got me thinking again. Always a bad thing!

I also have progress pictures of the second round ripple I started as well as the first swatch I made for the new pattern, which didn't turn out like I had hoped.
