I made it!

I'm so proud! I managed to finish my first real ripple on time for my deadline yesterday, when it was to be used as a gift for a Christening.

Ok, so I had to crochet everywhere I went; at my friends house, in the car going to and fro, in front of the telly, at the hair dressers - and way into the night...

I'm so proud of the finished result and now feel ready to start learning how to read a pattern and get crocheting away. I have bought a magazine with some reasonably simple patterns and will be giving one of them a go in the near future.

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. I'm proud to be able to call myself not just a crocheter, but a rippler to boot!

First set complete

Yesterday night I added the last colour in my set, I'm going to repeat the set about 5 times.

When complete it should be 150 cm long & about 140 cm wide I think, abit wider than I had planned from the beginning, but nevermind. More cosy rippley goodness to curl up in.

Finished first of 2 baby afghans

I finished the first of the 2 baby afghans I am working on. I started it a while back and got it out again. It is for my daughters friend whose baby is due in October.

what does everyone think?> do my edges look alright?

Toys in the attic!

The last time we visited my MIL, we found THIS in her attic.....

It is my DH's grandmother's trunk from around the early 1900's. Inside, MIL had left some of her crocheting, and guess what, it was a ripple! She told me to take it all home with me! YE HAW! The ripple isn't finished, but she still had some extra yarn with it in each color, so I suppose I will try to finish it up! (Happy Dance!) As you can see below, my dog, Asia, is also VERY excited about the find. :)

Hey everyone. It's been a while since i've even worked on this ripple. I tend to have a relatively short attention span when it comes to a lot of things... and this ripple has kind of been cast off to the side a lot lately. Poor thing. It's so pretty. Why did I neglect you?

My birthday is next Saturday. What have I been asking for? Yarn. :) I want some pretty new yarn to make pretty things with. Who knows what it'll turn into.

I made this for a Christmas present for a friend up north. I am washing it and will put it in a space bag, then at Christmas will mail it to her right in the space bag!
Its kind of fun and was very quick to make.

Ripple blanket for Hugo - finished!

I actually finished this weeks and weeks ago, and it's even been delivered to the birthday boy in Brisbane (on Tuesday 15th May).

I'm so pleased with how this came together. And due to the short amount of time I spent crocheting it (I finished it in 10 days), I never once became tired of it.

After a 10-year Hiatus!

Hello everyone! I'm new to the group, and I must confess that I haven't made a ripple anything since I made a ripple afghan for my dad when I was 13. As I recall, I misplaced it before I had a chance to finish it. *blush*

So what has suddenly gotten me back into the ripple? It was only late last year when I first started looking into crochet online, and I was amazed by how popular the ripple has become. Everyone has such beautiful photos of their ripple projects, and they just got my fingers itching join in on the fun!

So here it is, my first ripple in 10 years:

It's going to be a scarf for my scarf swap partner in the I Love to Crochet Club on MySpace. Yes, MySpace. Apparently crochet has infiltrated all parts of the web!

I'm back!

Well, after a few months of not crocheting at all, I'm back working on my giant ripple. I went into crochet burn-out. I know a lot of us go through that at one time or another. But, I kept looking at my giant ripple and it kept calling my name. So, I started back on it a couple of days ago. I'll take a progress pic after the weekend and I can get in some good crocheting on it.

I also wanted to say that I am loving seeing everyone's ripples. I continued to check out this blog daily to see everyone's pieces progress. Keep up the wonderful work!

Granny Ripple and Pink Ripple

Hi,

I finally got a chance to join. Some of you who also post (or lurk) on the Granny along may recognize these pictures. I have been working on this ripple out of Jan Eaton's book, 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns. It is #190, Granny Chevrons. My cat certainly likes it, so far!

This is a pillow cover I am working on out of the same book. Pattern #16, Pink Ripple.

Another Newbie!

Hi everyone ! I have been a lurker on the ripple along blog for quite some time and I finally decided to join. lol. I am working on this yellow, lime green and turquoise blanket for my 1 year old niece . I am using this pattern and red heart super saver yarn.

The pic below is a granny ripple that I started back in Feb. I finished it but I never took a pic. I will have to take the finished pic and show you how it turned out. I used red heart soft yarn in brown, teal and turquoise.

Ocean baby blanket FO

I finished ripple #3 early yesterday morning. I can't wait to give it to her. I talked to her on Monday and it was confirmed that she is having a little boy(which is what the early pink or blue test said). So this is Dylan Scott's first blanket. They are doing an ocean/fish theme, so I have been calling it the ocean blanket. It kinda looks like ocean waves:) It is made with Caron SS, a size G hook, is about 34 by 36 and it took me about a month to crochet. I took me over an hour just to FINISH tucking the ends in:) My mini Dachshund Emory is modeling it again.... She is so funny, I think she enjoys the photo shoots:)
