New Afghan!

I'm working on a round ripple pattern I found over at Bernat's website:

The pattern starts out a bit finicky- I've had to alter a couple of spots to keep it lying flat. I think it's going to turn out pretty though! I'm working it up in Oyster Heather and Spruce worsted weight Wool of the Andes from KnitPicks.

In other news, there's a giveaway going on at my blog! I have a set of three adorable handmade dishcloths to give away in celebration of my blogiversary. To enter, just hop over to the giveaway post on my blog and leave a comment. Easy as pie(or Chrysanthemums, in this case)! :)

Thanks guys! I hope I'll get a chance to work on it soon, but I don't foresee that happening. :( Too many other projects that I need to actually finish.

jd- I'm not aware of such a pattern, but have you tried using google to search for either "diagonal ripple afghan" or "corner start ripple afghan"? You may some up with something you can use that way.

WOW, all of your blankies are so beautiful!! I love all the colors you've used in everything you've shared photos of, very lovely! I hope that someday when I stay home with my own children I will be able to find the time to make similar items; crocheting is just so much fun and results in such pretty things!
:)

Blessings,

Great Blog! I love the round ripple afghan. I had trouble getting mine to lie flat as well.

@Stormarela- Really? Do you have any suggestions for getting them to lie flat? I actually started this one and then gave it up because I couldn't get it to lay flat, and I didn't want to get halfway through the thing and then realize it would forever be rumply. I've noticed with several of Bernat's free patterns that they aren't always the most well-written. :/

Hi Sherri, wow you have a few blogs for me to paruse thru...this one caught my eye first because I'm working on a round ripple from a picture of one I posted about on my blog which I couldn't find a pattern to. Anyhoo...I see that you mentioned your round ripple wouldn't lay flat, and I had the same trouble with my " sample" one I am making, and I have put it off to the side. Like the other commenter, I didn't want to get too far and frog the entire thing..so I put it quietly aside for now...any suggestions? I thought maybe mine was ripply? because I wasn't working from a pattern and maybe did something wrong. Thanks for stopping over..I would have never known you if you didn't leave a comment:)
