I thought I would share a picture of my first ripple afghan I made recently. It took me a couple of months to finish. I worked on this mostly as a form of therapy. My Mom had passed away and I was having a hard time grieving, so I decided to make an afghan in memory of her. She was a gifted seamstress, knitter and crocheter. Doing this project got me back into crocheting and brought me closer to her. I think she would had liked this. It is sized for a lap quilt, but I am making another one the size of our king size bed. I love the multi colors because it makes it look cheerful. No special yarns, just the average Red Heart you find in Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby.Sunday, September 30, 2007
My very first ripple afghan

Hi, Susan, I'm not sure where to leave comments for you, but hope you'll get this one! I saw where you wanted to buy the pillowcases from my shop & that's fine. I'm opening it tomorrow for the 1/2 price sale, so I'll put your name on them. The only thing that I have to wait for is I have one more prize giveway & I'm waiting to hear back from her on what she wants from the shop. She gets to pick 2 items, so I hope she'll check in soon & let me know.
Then the shop will be ready for the clearance sale! But,hopefully she will not want the pillowcases & you can get them. I'll let you know for sure after I hear from her.

Wow, I think that afghan is a beautiful incarnation of your connection to your mom! That is a very special creation.
I am very sorry to hear about your mom, but what a lovely memorial to her. It is a wonderful idea.
Keeping the hands and "monkey mind" busy helps the heart to heal. Your ripple is beautiful I am sure your mother felt the connection while you made it.
What a nice way to make a usable memorial to a person who loved needlework!
The afghan is lovely.
This is absolutely amazing. I really love the variety, and it encourages me to be more daring when I approach a project. I just love looking at it and trying to identify the yarns by name in my head. (I'm such a yarn junkie, that I can name quite a few – ooh, there's girlie girl!)
