Ripple Gloves

Hi, just thought I would show all you lovely ripplers the fingerless ripple gloves I made up for my friend Zoe for Christmas.

Made from 3 colours of Cascade 220, worsted and a 4.25mm hook, I basically just did a 32 (+2) chain swatch of Susan B.'s Ripple pattern (link on the sidebar), and sewed up the sides leaving a hole for the thumb. They were really quick too, I finished both in one night.

They turned out ok I think. I am going to make a matching ripple scarf to go with them.

Let me know what you think!

And check out my blog if you like Gauze Celebre.

Hello, everyone!

Hello! I am new around here, but I have been lurking for quite some time. Now that I have been officially made part of the group, I thought I would share my two ripple afghans. The first one is in off-white, medium green, and dark forest green for my 10 year old son to use on his bed. This is a closeup of the edge. It shows the colors a little bit better. This one was made with Susan B's easy pattern with two strands of worsted yarn held together throughout and a size N hook. The yarns were various cheap-o stuff that I could find at Wal-Mart, nothing fancy, but the blanket turned out warm and soft anyway. My kiddo loves it and won't sleep without it, even in summertime.
This is a scrap one that I made as a chair throw. We always seem to need blankets and such to lay under. I used scraps of various and sundry left overs with black ripples between. The black yarn is the only yarn I bought for this purpose. It is Red Heart Super Saver in the gigantic skein. I finished it off with black tassels at the points on both ends. I only wish it had been a bit wider. Live and learn!
Thanks so much for taking a look at my ripples! I have truly enjoyed seeing pictures of all of yours!

Susan B Question!

HELLLLP!! I am starting my second ripple and chose the Susan B's Easy Ripple again. Last time I made it in the narrow size, this time I chose to chain 178 to make the larger one. However, when I reached the end of the chain I ended with a dip instead of a peak as my last "dooey". So, when the instructions say for the second row to skip one, chain seven, three dc in next chain, I don't have that as an option because I'm beginning on a down-stroke. Anyone know how to adjust this so that I don't have to unravel my first row and part of the chain or something? Thanks for any tips!!

Baby Blanket

This is my first post... please be gentle.

I am making a baby blanket for my cousin's first child. She is due in April. We don't know the sex yet, so I have decided to go with a light green/off white combination. I am using Caron Simply Soft and the ribbed variation of SusanB's Easy Ripply Afghan.

This isn't my first ripple, but it's the first time I've used this pattern and I have a question. The bottom is "rolled" up... Will it stay that way? Hm. Anyway, I love the pattern! I just hope I finish on time. (I tend to get distracted and push projects to the side.)

Feedback welcome. :D

My First Ripple (and Now I'm Hooked!)

I was recently given a stash of rather hideous acrylic yarn to use for my charity crafting. I've decided to make it into a small (36" square) ripple and donate it to either Project Linus, my local hospital, or The Snuggles Project (Hugs for Homeless Animals). Where it goes depends on how it turns out. I'm using Susan's Easy Ripple pattern. Here's the start of it. What do you think? Not too hideous, is it? (That's a deep burgundy third from the right.)

I'm loving working on this already! I would love to make a queen-size ripple to use in place of a comforter on my bed. I'm thinking lots of colors of Peace Fleece. Wonder if that would be warm enough to replace a comforter . . .

Side note: I started the Soft Waves ripple from 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns, but I had some trouble with row 2. The peaks and valleys weren't matching up for me. Is there an error in the pattern, or did I just goof? I didn't try very hard to figure it out. I was feeling impatient and just wanted to get going already :-)
