Truly, a heat wave in the L.A. area at the very time that I am crocheting a giant afghan that sits in my lap and makes me too warm to begin with. Quelle surprise.
After working on it for less than a week, I have been through two rounds of each color. It reminds me of the Caribbean, not that I have ever been there. It measures about 13 1/2" so far. I figure I will make it about 6 1/2' in length so I am about 1/6 of the way there. I should have it finished by 2010.

Lookin' good. I am using the same colors & you're about at the same # of rows as me....I should be done by 2010 also ;))
Definitely a tropical feel! I love it! I may have to make my daughter one like this, she'd LOVE it!
I ordered the yarn for my son's blanket yesterday and today. Cascade 220 superwash in muted masculine colors. Can't wait for it to get here, as I need to get started yesterday!
Looking forward to joining in with you guys soon. I hope to hear back from my request to join the group in the near future.
I could use some help with the Soft Waves pattern if anyone is willing to give it. I've worked it several times with some scrap yarn, and something is just not going right. Are there mistakes in the pattern? If so, what? Thanks!
Haha! It reminds me of the Caribbean too, and I live here!
LOVE these colors! If I wasn't trying to use up stash, I would have chosen these colors.
Love the colors, most definitely feeling the Caribbean vibe on this! Beautiful work :)
Ha ha ha! I can relate to crocheting in the tropics - I live in North Queensland and I've been crocheting under the air conditioning!!!
that looks great! It's funny to see that our blankets look different even though we're using the same yarn. And like babette, i'm probably about as far as you are too!
