I am currently working on this pattern but I don't understand the part of the directions where it says "1 dc into same stitch" Where is this "same stitch"? LOL My blanket looks ok overall but my repeats are coming out diffent at the end of every row, I think because I don't know where to put the first stitch. Any suggestions?
hey lisa! i'm assuming the "dc into same stitch" is at the beginning or end or end of the row?
if it's at the beginning, it means making your first double crochet into the stitch at the base of the turning chain, which you would usually skip over since the turning chain counts as your first stitch when you're working in dc.
if it's at the end, it probably means making 2 dc into the turning chain from the row below, which counts as the last stitch of that previous row...does that make sense? email me if not, i'll try to help...
It's a yarn thing. It's a crochet thing. It's sometimes a knit thing too. It's a getting back to the basics thing. It's the discovery of a mindless, escapist, reassuringly repetitive thing. It's a reveling in tradition, let it sooth your soul thing.

lisa -- what dawn said
Dawn, thank you so much, that totally makes sense now. No wonder the count ends up all wrong!
oh good, glad to be of service!
