My first round ripple

This is a baby quilt for a co-worker. His wife just had a gorgeous baby girl!
This is my first attempt at a round ripple. It was a little too ripply, it seems, as it didn't want to lay completely flat. Is that normal, or did I goof? Either way it worked out because it just looks like a big ruffle around the baby. The center is a baby pink, with a round of a multicolored baby print and then edged in white.

You have selected such beautiful colors so soft and pretty and it looks like Simply Soft because it has that sheen to it. Is it?

On the next one try, at the points, two rows of 2dc,ch2,2dc and one row of 1dc,ch2,1dc. That cuts down on the "ripple". (Or adapt the idea to your particular instructions..am currently using it on the 6-point star and it works there too). I got those instructions from the "Spiderman" round ripple. Works for me!

Thanks, June, for the suggestion. I will have to try that!
