So close, and yet...
When I started this ripple I was doing two, three, sometimes even four colors each day (meaning four, six, or eight rows). I couldn't wait to get home and ripple. And now? Well, now that I'm visibly nearing the finish line I find myself finding other things to do besides the ripple. I've even done the dishes.
I figure I've got about 16 more colors to go. At one a day, that's still more than two weeks!
And that's my weaving project in the background. Towels ... which I only started when it became clear that the ripple wasn't going to last forever.
Is it esthetically pleasing? I'll leave that for others to decide. My only criterion was that each new color should go with the previous one in some way. So there's a flow, from bottom to top. Whether it works as an overall piece, I don't know. I do know, however, that my stash is substantially diminished. But it should sustain me to the bitter end.

I think it looks fantastic. Mine has sat for weeks now...I got distracted by a huge granny square balnket project. I will go back to it, but I enjoy the colours more with the granny squares. I think it's just so awesome how close you are to being finished.
It is beautiful!
The colours are fantastic, at least as they appear in the photo. It's an incredible bedspread. I'm going to make one that big at some point, too. It's really fabulous.
I think it looks fabulous! It's a slog towards the end but it will become an heirloom so it's worth it.
Oh & can I join?? My email: amythyst69@aol.com
Beautimous! I just wanted to use a different word from everyone else *grin*.
Why, thanks, everyone!!
i think that it is beautiful. that's great that you are so close to finishing.. what kind of yarn did you use?:)
How do you know when you're through? are you making it a certain length or number of rows? I've been wondering for a while now how to tell when it'll be done. I'm making a king size ripple... and its a little more than a third of the way done.
Yours is looking beautious though... Home stretch!
It is just gorgeous!! Keep going...you're almost there!!!
I like it!
very nice, I hope you finish real soon.
Michelle: I'm using whatever is laying around, which is mostly Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight. There's a smattering of Lamb's Pride Wool, a couple of stripes of worsted weight cotton, and one stripe of really fluffy boucle that was a pain in the rear, but it's my favorite stripe because it's textural.
Riss: I'll know it's done when it reaches from the bottom of my queen-size bed alllll the way to the top. At the moment it just reaches the bottom of the pillows.
Stunning! And is that a Baby Wolf I see lurking in the background? Mine is waiting patiently, mid-scarf, for me to get over my ripple infatuation.
That is, indeed, a Baby Wolf. I started a project on it in an effort to drag out the ripple...
