Happy Monday Ripple-Along Friends.

I took my ripples onto the New York subway with me this morning. The R train is my favorite place to crochet and knit. I made 4 rows of progress in 1 hour. I crochet slow. I still hope to have my ripple skirt finished before it gets too warm.

I would love to have been sitting nearby and watching you! Though I sometimes feel self-conscious about working on the subway (with everyone sitting face-to-face) I really enjoy seeing others knit or crochet in public. It makes me feel peaceful and relaxed.

When I was going in and out of boston every day for school, I'd bring whatever scarf I was working on with me. People would look up at me and just smile, or ask what I was making. A lot of people don't know there is a difference between knitting and crocheting... I always felt like I was helping better the world by teaching someone something about crocheting :)

Hooray for crocheting in public. My blanket has gotten too large to tote around, but I am going to embroider in public today instead.

Good for you! More people should crochet/knit in public; the world sure would benefit from it :)

Can I ask, are you using a specific pattern for the skirt or are you making it up as you go?

Oohh!!

That is pretty! I bring my baby ripple afghan on the train too. People stare like no other. But I don't care I just keep crocheting and knitting.

Such cheerful colours against the muted background of the subway car and your fellow commuters. Fun!
