Half way there!

So, I have used about a gazillion balls of yarn, and still have an enormous stack to get through, but I am officially half way there!

I have blogged in more detail here.

questions questions....

In the current questioning spirit that seems to be with us today I was wondering what is the biggest hook that anyone has used to make a ripple. I am loving my current blanket, but with a 4.5mm hook and dk yarn (as well as 240 chains) I am definitely in it for the long haul. I feel the need for some relatively instant gratification. Also, what is the thickest yarn anyone has gone for? (as a brit, I am a little hazy on the US nomenclature, but I will do my best!).
Thanking you all in advance (and happy June, by the way).

Finished the baby ripple!

I have finished the baby ripple I was asking you all for advice on last week (thanks a ton, by the way!). Boy, were there a lot of ends to sew in (I guess that is what you get for changing colour every two rows!), but two hours later it was time to block (my favourite part!)

For more info you can check out my blog.

Opinions on colour please

Hey there. I realise that as I am only about a quarter of my way into my first ripple I should probably not be dreaming of my second (in much the same way that it isn't really the done thing to imagine your second husband when married to your first, but who doesn't?). With that said though, I want to make a baby blanket for an infant of undetermined sex and would love some colour advice. If I make it in cream I think I will be bored out of my mind before I get more than 5 inches in. Also, any advice on size would be appreciated. Don't want to spend until the baby is seven crocheting the damn thing!

Here is the progress on ripple number one, by the way.

The first (or is that the third?) ripple

I thought that I would join in with all the rippling that is going on, but I didn't count on how much ripping I would have to do! This is the third attempt, and I finally seem to be getting it right. I wanted to make a wavy blanket to remind me of the sea, so I got every colour I could find that fitted in, and now I have a bit of work ahead of me. Should all be worth it in about 6 months!

What do you think?
