Still Rippling

I've been away from this blog for quite awhile, returned to look several days ago, and realized how much I've missed it! Everyone's doing such nice work. The funny thing is, I have been rippling, just not posting. I finally finished my Rowan Cotton Glace ripple, which I love very much. It's a little narrow, but still sweet. I've also just finished a baby ripple out of Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (which gets fantastic drape, even tightly crocheted up). Here she is:

So many of my friends are pregnant, I'm not sure to whom this will ultimately go...

I'm also working on an autumnal sort of ripple, a little brash and made of Red Heart Soft Yarn, which is 100% acrylic. But whoever said a ripple had to break the bank? I'm not sure about this one, but my little girl loves it, so maybe she'll get it as a cuddle-up couch blanket for the coming winter...

So, that's my ripple story at the moment. If you like, come visit me at The Weather in the Streets, although I warn you that I've recently become a little Severus Snape-obsessed, which has been an impediment to my knitting and crochet musings. Still, if you like crocheting AND the potions master, then it's the place for you...

I really like both of them! The top one is perfect for a baby and the bottom one I LOVE the bold colors in it.

Congrats!

Absolutely beautiful! I think sometimes we look at our work too long and have second thoughts! It is very pretty, plug on...

How beautiful each of them is in its own right! Lovely work.

They are both very pretty. It looks like you have a border (edging) on the first one. I would like to do something like that on my ripple. Can you tell me how you did that?

Hi, Bella--I decided to do a border of half double crochet, as single crochet seemed too tight and double crochet too loose. I tied on my color, did hdc along the sides, three hdc in the corner stitch to turn, and then proceeded along the wavy edge with a hdc in each stitch, and two in the top stitch of each peak (just so the afghan didn't pull in at the peaks). My border consisted of two rounds of this.

Let me know if this is confusing, and I'll try to outline it more clearly...

Best,
Leah

I really love them both! The green mixed in with the pinks for the baby ripple looks adorable and I love the primary colors of the second! So pretty!
