Frogged, it's all frogged

Well, this is what it used to look like:
But now it's all gone. All gone.

I found that the queen size width was too much for my large loose stitch compounded by the "textured" effect caused by picking up only the back half of the stitch on every second row. Love the look, but the structure was too weak and stretchy.

So tonight I spent HOURS (I could not believe how long it took!) pulling it all apart. I'll try a smaller ghan with a smaller hook and a tighter stitch. I'm gonna forget the textured stripe too.

Hopefully it'll work out this time.

*sheds a tear for your beautiful frogged ripple*

Atleast you have pictures for the memories... It's a shame it didn't work out. It was beautious. I frogged a sock today... it was a first, and only attempt. :)

Good luck with your next ripple...

Awww, it's a crying shame but often you wind up with a piece that you really love and you're glad you frogged!

I'll be looking for new pics when you get some growth on the new ripple...all the best.

Ouch! It hurts just to read about rippin' it... I usually pick up both loops because it is sturdier. Best...

:::sniff:::

Mine has a "Back Loop Only" row every other row and it's getting old--and it's only twin-sized. So, I know your pain. It's harder to work, and, as it gets bigger and heavier, I really have to make sure it's supported in my lap.

I cringed at the thought of rippng ALL of that out, but then my goofy self got the best of me and I pictured you standing over it saying "ladies, we can rebuild her. better, stronger..." more ripply? that's where I lost it :)

But, I guess its better to frog and start over, than spend the time on something you'd be unhappy with. Good luck on the second go-round!

Oh my goodness, all those gorgeous ripples, frogged. My heart breaks for you! Although it is better to have a finished product that you know will love and enjoy. Otherwise, every time you looked at it you would say, 'What if....?' or 'If only....'

Oh no! I frogged a sock last night and was almost out of my mind, so I can't imagine frogging an entire blanket. That said however, it's better to start over than to cringe every time you look at the blanket.
Good luck with the retry!
